Q: How many red snapper can I keep?
A: Each angler may keep 1 red snapper per day that measures a minimum of 20 inches, in accordance with state and fedearl regulations.
Q: How is the Semi-Private trip different from your regular Gulf Stream fishing trip?
A: While the trip follows a similar offshore format, this trip is specifically timed during red snapper season, giving you the rare opportunity to target and keep this species. Also, being a semi-private trip, you’ll have double the elbow room as you do on our regular Gulf Stream trips with a max of 50 anglers.
Q: Do I need fishing experience?
A: No experience is necessary. Our crew will assist you throughout the trip, but this is a full-day offshore experience, so be prepared for a longer trip.
Q: Will we only fish for red snapper on these trips?
A: No — while red snapper is the highlight, we also target a variety of other offshore species to maximize your fishing experience such as grouper, trigger fish, vermillion, black sea bass and more depending on the duration and distance traveled on your specific trip!
Q: Do I need to get a permit to fish for red snapper on this trip?
A: No, our Captain and crew will handle all of the boring permitting & paperwork- you just worry about having fun and fishing!
Q: Will I get seasick?
A: All of these trips travel far offshore, and conditions can vary. If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking preventative measures before boarding.
Q: Can I bring my own rods/ reels?
A: Yes, you’re welcome to bring up to two personal rods/ reels. Please note, you must provide your own tackle if bringing your own rods. Our crew suggests 80 pound mono, 4/0 circle hooks, and 12 oz bank sinkers. Braided line is allowed on personal rods but it is important to note that if a tangle should occur, the braided line will be the first line cut.
