Attend the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony

Memorial Day Weekend is filled with fun in the sun, but it’s also important to remember why we celebrate the holiday in the first place. The Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony is a time when we can come together and remember those who have given their lives for our freedoms. This event will be taking place at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2022. Come out to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to participate.

During this ceremony, veterans from every branch of the military and from multiple conflicts will be present and will be recognized. You will also be able to witness a beautiful brass band performance, listen to passionate speakers, and observe the touching Missing Man Table Ceremony.

Run the Brookgreen Gardens Memorial Day 5K

Want to get active as we kick off summer? Then register for the Brookgreen Gardens Memorial Day 5K! 2022 marks the 9th annual running of this 5K, bringing together locals and visitors for a fun race with some amazing scenery. This event will take place on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 6 p.m. Participants are able to enter Brookgreen Gardens starting at 4:45 p.m.

As you run, you’ll wind through the incredible sculpture gardens and wildlife preserves that Brookgreen is famous for. During this race, runners or walkers are welcome to make their way through the gardens with their strollers, although dogs aren’t allowed. You’ll be provided with snacks and water after the race, but be aware that there are no water stops as you’re running. Be sure to register online by May 29 at 3 p.m.!
