Q: How much should I tip my captain?
A: A 10-20% tip based on the cost of the charter is customary for the captain/ crew.
Q: Can we keep our catch?
A: Yes, anything you catch that is in season and of legal size can be kept. Your captain and/ or crew will even clean and fillet your catch for you upon return to dock.
Q: What should we wear and bring?
A: We always suggest wearing comfortable clothes and multiple layers when out on the water. Closed toed shoes are also recommended for safety reasons- let’s be honest, no one wants a hook in their foot. You’re welcome to bring a cooler with snacks and drinks- alcohol included, just no glass, and don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen!
Q: If our trip is cancelled because of weather, do we get our money back?
A: Of course. Our captains are always watching the weather and the most up-to-date buoy reports to ensure the safety of all of our guests. If a trip is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, you’ll be offered a full refund back to your original form of payment.
Q: When is the best time to catch fish?
A: There’s never a bad time to fish, but we do recommend mornings as sea conditions tend to be calmer. In the summer months especially, winds sometimes pick up in the afternoon limiting how far offshore we can get.
Q: Is there shade on the boat?
A: There is minimal shade on this vessel being a center console.
Q: What if we don’t want to go into the ocean?
A: First, we always recommend you talk to your captain. This boat specifically is built for backwater or nearshore fishing allowing you to stay in the calmer backwaters of Murrells Inlet within the jetties or head out into the ocean if the weather permits so staying in the creek is always an option.
