As the South Carolina coast eases into early spring vibes, February along the Grand Strand comes alive with flavor, festive fun, and laid-back coastal experiences. From oyster roasts and Mardi Gras-style celebrations to markets, bridal fairs, and plenty of ways to explore the MarshWalk and beyond — here’s what’s on tap this month.

Signature Seasonal Events

17th Annual Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast — Murrells Inlet

One of the biggest winter food events in the area, the Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast serves up all you can eat oysters, chicken bog, fixins’ and brews in Murrells Inlet. It’s a classic Grand Strand celebration of Lowcountry flavors and community — perfect for oyster lovers and anyone looking to enjoy local seafood during the off-season.

Marshi Gras on the MarshWalk — Murrells Inlet

Fat Tuesday (February 17) brings Mardi Gras energy to the MarshWalk! Locals and visitors alike will parade in festive costumes, enjoy live music, and collect beads, masks and party favors from every restaurant and bar along the Inlet’s most beloved boardwalk. Think lots of color, music, and fun — even if you’ve never been to New Orleans.

Myrtle Beach Gun Show — Convention Center

Feb. 7–8 brings one of the East Coast’s most popular gun and memorabilia shows to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. If you’re into collectibles, historic firearms, or talking shop with vendors and fellow enthusiasts, this is the place to be.

Grand Strand Bridal Expo

On February 28, brides-to-be and wedding planners gather for inspiration, fashion shows, décor ideas and vendor showcases at the annual Bridal Expo at the Convention Center — a fun way to kick off wedding planning season.

Vintage Market Days — Myrtle Beach Sports Center

From February 20–22, Vintage Market Days brings an eclectic collection of artisan goods, antiques, jewelry, décor and more. It’s a three-day shopping experience where every booth feels boutique and every find feels special.

12th Annual Taste of the MarshWalk — Murrells Inlet

The MarshWalk’s beloved tasting event returns in February from the 21st to the 22nd, featuring small plates from each of the eight award-winning restaurants, live music, artisan vendors, kid activities and a festive atmosphere along the Inlet’s waterfront. Watch local event calendars and MarshWalk social pages for further details.

Things to Do Beyond the Festivals

Even if the weather stays mild or cool, the Grand Strand has plenty to enjoy year-round:

Explore Brookgreen Gardens – Beautiful botanical gardens and sculpture exhibits are calmer in winter, with unique seasonal blooms.

Head to the MarshWalk anytime – Beyond official events, the Murrells Inlet boardwalk is a go-to spot for seafood, music and marsh vistas.

Local indoor fun

Myrtle Beach offers plenty of indoor activities geared toward adults looking to relax, socialize, or be entertained beyond the beach, making it a great destination year-round. Visitors can enjoy live music venues, comedy shows, and performance theaters that provide an energetic nightlife scene without stepping outdoors, while interactive experiences like escape rooms, indoor golf simulators, and arcade-style game lounges offer friendly competition and fun. For a more laid-back pace, cooking classes, art workshops, wine tastings, and craft beverage experiences allow adults to unwind and learn something new, while museums, galleries, and local history exhibits add a cultural touch. Whether you’re seeking laughter, creativity, or a cozy place to gather on a rainy day, Myrtle Beach has no shortage of indoor adult activities to keep your trip entertaining.

Chill weather tips: Many local theaters, concert venues and restaurants continue full-speed in February — check schedules for Carolina Opry, Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre and the House of Blues for evening entertainment.
