Enjoy Labor Day (and Beyond) at Myrtle Beach!
There’s never a bad time for a Myrtle Beach vacation, but Labor Day Weekend tends to be a popular time for visitors from across the country to come to our shores. Thankfully, there are all kinds of fun activities and events going on around this time of year. Here’s a quick guide to some “can’t miss” events if you’re planning your next trip to Myrtle Beach.
Brookgreen Gardens Labor Day 5K
During your time in Myrtle Beach, you don’t have to limit yourself to the city itself. You can make a day trip to nearby towns like our very own Murrells Inlet! One of our most prized attractions is Brookgreen Gardens, where you’ll find the Labor Day 5K. You can get competitive in the main run, or you can take it easy in the 1-Mile Fun Run.
You’ll make your way through the Gardens during your run, getting to see unique and breathtaking plant life. Be sure to stick around for snacks and water after the race! The 5K will take place on September 4 at 6 p.m.
Hot Summer Nights
The Hot Summer Nights series has been going on throughout the entire season, but Labor Day Weekend marks the last celebration of the year. Visit Plyler Park for a night of family-friendly fun, featuring live music, dance parties, and so much more! Each night from September 1 through 4 will have its own unique schedule. Check the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Facebook page for more details as the celebration approaches.
Labor Day Fireworks
Nothing quite says “Labor Day” like a fireworks show! The Labor Day Fireworks in Myrtle Beach are truly beautiful sights to enjoy with your family, and you’ve got two chances to experience them.
On September 3, head over to Barefoot Landing for a fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m. Or, even better, explore Barefoot Landing throughout the afternoon and evening, shopping and dining to your heart’s content, before the show begins at 10! Then, the next day on September 4, make your way to Broadway at the Beach. They’ll have all their regular shops and restaurants open for you to enjoy throughout the day before you pick a spot for the fireworks show at 10 p.m.
Upcoming Fall Activities
If you’re not planning to be in town for Labor Day, you can still have tons of fun throughout the fall! Visit the Farmers’ Market to pick up some fresh produce, book a kayak tour to travel along the saltwater marsh, or enjoy a drink with the adults in your group at one of the local breweries. There’s truly no limit to the fun that a Myrtle Beach fall vacation can bring!
Fishing charters in Myrtle Beach are especially popular in the fall, since you can avoid the heat of summer while still having pleasant weather. Crazy Sister Marina in nearby Murrells Inlet is your premier destination for local fishing charters, regardless of your experience level. Contact us today to learn more!
